**Clothing**
– Pack lightweight, breathable clothes, and a few warmer items for layering during cooler evenings or in air-conditioned locations.
– Include clothing items that can be mixed and matched for a variety of outfits. You might include dresses that can be dressed up or down, jeans, a shawl or jacket for churches, and nicer outfits for the evenings depending on your itinerary.
**Footwear**
– Comfortable walking shoes are a must!!! European cities are best explored on foot, and you don’t want sore feet to slow you down.
**Tech Essentials**
– An international travel adapter or converter to ensure your electronic devices can be used.
– A power bank for charging your devices on the go. I definitely used this!!
**Essential Documents and Currency**
– Valid passport, good for 6 months after your return and visas if required.
– Travel insurance documents, printed out because it is INSURANCE and you don’t know when you will need it..
– Debit or credit cards, as well as some Euro or Pounds, depending on your destination.
**Health and Grooming Essentials**
– Travel-sized toiletries in accordance with airline regulations if you’re carrying a hand bag.
– Prescription medications in their original packaging, if necessary, along with a physician’s note explaining why you need them.
– A basic first-aid kit with band-aids, antiseptic cream, and over-the-counter medication for headaches, fever, etc.
**Snacks and Entertainment**
– Travel-friendly snacks.
– Compact notebook, and a camera with A LOT of memory.
**For Unique Interests**
– If you’re going on a castle or cathedral tour, extra layer of clothing might be needed as these places can be cooler.
– Considering the nightlife, carrying an elegant dress or a blazer might come in handy.
Remember, the key to successful packing for Europe is to pack versatile items, travel light, and leave enough room for souvenirs and gifts. I had to buy an extra suitcase and there was really no need because I didn’t wear ½ the clothes I brought. Happy packing!
